It
is important to know where to start and what to consider when comparing winows. When starting the window shopping
process look for the ENERGY STAR label and NFRC
logo. The NFRC is a non profit organization
whose goal is to provide uniform, accurate information about window and door energy performance. The NFRC publishes standards
tthat will help guide you in undertading what to look for. The windows NFRC label shows you what to consider. The two most
important energy ratings are U-factor and Solar Heat Gain.
We spend millions of dollars every year to heat our homes and
with the high costs of natrual gas and electricity it becomes an issue that affects us all. Windows are very different from
walls. They let light in and allow you to see out. This allows for a close interaction with the outside. Insulated walls do
not do this. Windows REACT to outside temperatures, sunlight, wind, and rain. If it is warm outside then you will easily feel
your home heat up with non energy efficient windows. The opposite ifs true when the cold leaks into your warm winter room.
Windowcrafters manufactures double and triple pane windows with insulated glass units utilizing Cardinal Coated Glass products,
Dura Platform Spacers and Argon gas fill sealed between the glass panes.
